A funding package that would terminate the longest federal closure in US history is heading to the House of Representatives for a crucial vote on midweek.

On the 43rd day of the legislative standoff, congressional members are returning to Washington to determine if they will endorse a Senate package that would fund government departments for the next eight weeks.

Majority party officials stated assurance the budget proposal would be approved by the House of Representatives, notwithstanding their tight margin. But top Democrats pledged to fight it.

"We're reopening our country," he stated on yesterday at a military commemoration in the DC area. "Shouldn't have been halted."

Surveys show citizens feel the GOP bear somewhat greater of the blame, while Democrats were bitterly split by the legislative gamesmanship.

And once the shutdown is over, budget writers have merely eight weeks to prevent the next one.

Government funding would then be scheduled to end on January 30th.
