Loyal fans of Ariana Grande are calling for that a man who leaped a fence and seized the celebrity during yesterday's Wicked: For Good launch be detained or expelled from Singapore.

A circulating footage shows the individual from Australia pushing past photographers and charging at Grande while the actors walked down a yellow carpet accompanied by onlookers.

Cast member Cynthia Erivo immediately pulled the stunned performer away from Mr Wen, who was seen being led away of the event by guards.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram Thursday evening that he was "let go after being arrested", though legal records showed that he was scheduled to attend court on the following morning. It is not clear if he was charged.

Pattern of Incidents

This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Notorious Troublemaker", has invaded a performance. His Instagram profile contains recordings of him disrupting other celebrity events, including rushing the platform at Katy Perry's Sydney show in June this year and in a comparable manner during The Chainsmokers concert in the same location last winter.

"Measures must be taken enforced against him as this is evidently a legal violation," commented an Instagram follower, in a message to a video Mr Wen shared of his actions.

"Oh wow so you do this a lot... how aren't you in jail?" one Instagram user remarked.

Followers Show Disapproval Over Grande's Past Trauma

Several supporters blamed Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had spoken of dealing with trauma-related anxiety after a terrorist explosion at the conclusion of her spring 2017 show in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and injuring many.

"Ariana has been through so many scary things... and at her Manchester concert and you thought it would be fun to jump the barricade?" wrote one more response on Instagram.

Some attendees also faulted event staff at the premiere for not being vigilant enough; while others requested social media platforms to block Mr Wen's content.

Response and Premiere Information

In videos spreading on the internet, Grande seemed startled when she was approached by the individual. Her fellow actors Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be seen comforting her while Mr Wen was removed by guards.

Grande has remained silent on the situation, and the premiere activities proceeded as normal.

Fans at Wicked premiere
Many of Singapore supporters had lined up to greet the actors of Wicked

Many of fans had congregated in a sea of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good regional launch in a Singapore shopping center, including some who had stood in line for as long as eight hours before it started.

The film, to be released on November 21, is the sequel of a two-film interpretation of the popular Broadway and West End musical Wicked, which revolves around the unlikely bond between two contrasting characters.

The show itself is a adaptation of the 1900 children's novel The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who acts as the benevolent sorceress Glinda, was dressed in a champagne pink glittering gown at the premiere while Erivo, who plays the villainous character, wore a black tube gown decorated with roses.

They were alongside fellow actor Jeff Goldblum.

The initial film, Wicked, was the top-earning motion picture of 2024 in the UK, and scored 10 Academy Award nods, securing a pair for excellent wardrobe and set decoration.
