Best-selling children's author and entertainer David Walliams has parted ways with his longtime publishing house, as confirmed by the firm.
A representative for the firm stated: "After careful consideration, and following the appointment of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing future works by David Walliams."
It has been reported that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an inquiry regarding allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at young women.
The firm has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, noting: "It is not our policy to discuss private personnel issues."
An Illustrious Literary Career
Walliams ranks among Britain's most successful children's authors, boasting over over six tens of millions of copies globally in 55 languages.
His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.
A number of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.
To date, he has released more than 40 books altogether, encompassing a holiday title called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins this past October.
A Dual Career
He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.
He was made an OBE back in 2017 for his services to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.
The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss this past October.
