Close to Ninety Air Travels Associated to Epstein Allegedly Landed at or Took Off from British Airfields
An investigation has uncovered that approximately 90 flights linked to the late financier Jeffrey Epstein are said to have arrived at and departed from UK airfields, with some allegedly carrying women from the UK who claim they were abused by the convicted sex offender.
Flight Logs Uncover Trail of Movement
These aviation records were among thousands of legal papers and papers made public by Epstein’s estate that have been released over the last year. The review found 87 flights linked to Epstein – encompassing many that were not previously known – coming into or leaving from UK airports between the early 1990s and 2018.
Passenger Details and Post-Conviction Travel
Unnamed female passengers were listed among the individuals flying to and from the UK. Crucially, 15 of these UK flights happened following Epstein’s 2008 conviction for procuring prostitution from a minor.
“It was ‘appalling’ that there had never been a ‘thorough probe in the UK’ into his dealings in the country,” said American attorneys representing hundreds of Epstein survivors.
British Victims and Legal Proceedings
A statement from one of the UK-based survivors aided the conviction of Epstein’s accomplice socialite Ghislaine Maxwell of child sex-trafficking in the US in 2021. However, that survivor has never been contacted by British law enforcement, according to her Florida-based lawyer.
In a response, the the Met said they had “not been provided with any further evidence that would support restarting the investigation.” They added, “If new and relevant evidence be brought to our attention, including any arising from the disclosure of material in the US, we will assess it.”
Continuing Disclosure and Legal Rulings
A bill to release every document held by the US government in regarding Epstein passed the House and Senate last month. The US justice department has until 19 December to follow through. Hundreds of thousands of files are expected to be released.
Additionally, a federal judge ordered last week that the DOJ could publicly release evidence from a trafficking prosecution against Maxwell, Epstein’s longtime confidante, who is currently serving a 20-year jail term over the allegations.
